Neath Port Talbot About us
Neath Port Talbot is committed to working collaboratively with Parents and Carers in order to help achieve the best possible outcomes for all children, especially those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). Neath Port Talbot Parent Partnership Service is here to help Parents and Carers by providing information, advice, support and guidance in order to help make informed decisions about their child’s education.
Parents and Carers can seek advice from a range of Inclusion Service support staff who work directly with families, children and school setting, including mainstream and specialist placements. Inclusion Service support staff include Well-Being and Behaviour staff, Educational Psychologists, Specialist Teachers, EWOs, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists as well as Parent Liaison Officers and Transition Key Workers.
Within Neath Port Talbot, we aim to resolve any disagreements through working collaboratively with Parents and Carers in the first instance. However, we also commission the services from SNAP Cymru who can provide impartial advice and support as well as mediation services as required. (Please see below).
For any issues or concerns about the Statutory Assessment process, Statements of Special Educational Needs or placement, please contact the Additional Learning Needs Support Team (ALNST) on 01639 763158 or email them on ALNST@npt.gov.uk
